ABOUT US

We are a husband-and-wife team living and working on the beautiful Danish island of Bornholm. Both Susanne and I (Ross Alan) have always focussed our creative energy on making one-of-a-kind or limited-edition works. "Production" is simply not our game. Discovery, invention and constant self-renewal are.

Our very different backgrounds (my wife is Danish by birth, and I am a native of Canada) together with our varied lifestyle (extended periods in Canada, Denmark and Israel) have impacted our way of seeing things, and by extension both what we make and how we make it. We have taken our skills to different countries and each of those countries has, in its turn, rubbed off on us.

Besides exhibiting in commercial and public venues, be it as part of group shows or on our own, we display and sell our works in our private (and very lovely, if I might say so myself,) home gallery.

I could easily go on talking, but won't. For in the final account it is what we make, not what we say that really matters. A limited selection of our work is available for viewing on this web site. To see more you will just have to come on by and visit our little gallery here on Bornholm.

About
WORKSHOP, ATELIER, GALLERY AND BOUTIQUE

Our private gallery, right next to our country home, is a converted barn and tool shed dating back to the 19th century. Until some forty years ago the property was a working farm.

Renovations transformed the little building into what is now a bright and airy exhibition space with a rustic ambience that fits in perfectly with the lovely natural surroundings.

We live and work in what is a tranquil corner of an often noisy world, alongside a narrow country road which meanders among fields of grain. Automobiles are rare around here, but cyclists are plentiful from late spring until mid-autumn. It's the perfect place, in other words, for dreaming, creating and simply delighting in the wonders of nature.

The island of Bornholm is a renowned vacation destination and attracts large numbers of visitors from around Europe. Its reputation is yet further enhanced by its being a hive of activity in the various arts and crafts. Exhibitions are held on the island on a relatively regular basis bringing to its shores craftspeople and connoisseurs from far and wide. Not surprisingly, workshop-, studio- and gallery-hopping are very popular with the many island guests.
